Greetings beloved.
As we grow and mature in the knowledge of who Christ is, we become more and more aware of His presence in our lives. This is a glorious benefit because we become more spiritually alive; we are more in tune with His Spirit dwelling in us and we are increasingly more effective spiritually. For example; it is impossible to discern God’s plan and will for our life if we live our life through our fleshly desires and without the presence of Christ. It is not easy to always walk the straight and narrow path because life has it’s twists and turns, some more deadly than others but the good news is that Jesus Christ has also walked the treacherous road of humiliation, rejection, shame, and death; and He rose victorious over it all. Our Lord understands more than we think He does about what is going on in our lives and our feelings. He bared a criminal’s cross just because He loved us so that we wouldn’t have to. It’s important to stay connected to Him through His Word, prayer, and obedience, to withstand against the evil plan of the enemy. I can remember back when I was in the world, I did things according to my hearts desire which were far from God’s plans and desire for my life. As the song goes “I went left, when He told me to go right.” Oh, when I think about how many tears have flooded my life because of the enter-me, the enemy had little to do with it (I’m not very big on the devil made me do it). I thank God that His mercy and grace kept me when I didn’t want to be kept, and if it had not been for the Lord where would I be today. See, it’s not about how many times I attend church, or how many good deeds I preform, or not even how many scriptures I can quote; if I don’t have the love of God in my heart it is all meaningless. Christ desires for us all to have a closer walk with Him, He desires intimacy with His children. The Bible tells us that He knows what we need or want before we say a word; however, He still loves for us to ask. Why do you think that is? I believe that it is because He loves building a trusting relationship between us, and He loves to hear our voice. I believe that with all my heart, because in Genesis 2:4 the Bible tells us that He is Jehovah, Lord , Master and relational God. He is a God who desires to have a personal relationship with His people. This requires daily communication with the Father, the more time you send alone with Him, you will see that His Spirit will infuse your spirit and bless you abundantly with love, peace, and wisdom. You will find that a closer walk with Jesus is a walk that is a step in the right direction.
